Raya is around the corner and I don't have enuf time

Dunno why am I so lazy to blog this couple of days. Really so tired mentally, physically and financially hehhehehehehehehe... The Eid is approaching and I just feel that there's so much to do and so little time left.

I was like a roach on the weekend. Saturday I woke up at 9.30am. It was deliberate becoz I dun have enuf rest on a weekday. Son was still asleep. He always wakes up late whenever he saw me on his side. So I quickly showered and sneeked out of the house. Need to get some stuffs for break fast and for the cookies. Came home at abt 12.10pm. So very tired. I didnt give myself a break, I straightaway heat up the oven and prepare to do the choc chip cookies. At the same time, the helper and me were preparing roti john and roti jala for berbuka puasa. After 8.30pm, we head our way to SOGO and TAR. Gosh I regret asking my hubby to park at the Pertama Complex parking lots. The place is so narrow and we scrached ayah's SERENA. Dammit! Although it was that tad bit but it is obvious. So I just had a dull shopping eventually coz I was worried abt the scratch. Nyah called but I couldnt talk to her. Kesian dia. My son was so hyper and nak suruh try kasut and baju pun susah. Dah lah my mood is gone. We reached home at 12.30am. Lucky Aqim slept in the car else if he was still running around, I think I will fall flat.

Sunday morning, hubby and me went to the wet market at Pasar Borong Selayang. We got all the stuffs mak and nyah pesan. Penat lah but I felt happy. I am always feeling contented if I managed to get the stuffs peoeple had wanted me to buy. We reached home at 12.45pm coz we were scouting for the car workshop. That small scratch cost RM300!!!!! Gosh! Wat a waste but we just had to do it coz I dont want ayah to think we are not trusted with his car. Reached home feeling tired but again I told myself I have work to do. We plan to buka Laksa Penang at my MIL's house. So while preparing for that, I was busy with the 4kg of tiger prawns, ikan patin and tenggiri for me to bring home to SG. After dealing with that, I proceed with honey cornflakes and choc hazelnut. All multitasking. My back ache like hell and got Aqim to give me the best body tapping from him. Such a help he was. Exactly at 6pm, we went to MIL's place which is just a stone throw. Only God knows how tired helper and me were. There I met hubby's cousin sister, Kak Dot and Kak Tak. Both just got back from Plaza Sentral Shah Alam to cheer on Azzura for the OLAY contest. Azzura won for the journalist category and landed herself a 3yr contract with TV3 and RM17k worth of products. Kudos Zura! Dia dapat lailatulqadr.

My aunt, Cik Asmah came to my place at 9pm. Short stay. She had family dinner at Rawang and stop over my place for a while to see how am I doing. Baik sungguh auntie ni. Yelah dia kira pengganti my mom lah since mak is in SG.

At 10.30pm sharp, Aqim and me went to sleep. It has been such long day for us. Tmrw is a PH and I have more things to do. Firstly to go to Syarikat Menag to buy some stuffs that my sister ordered. Then head again to my MIL's house to help her cook and petik buah mangga(her pokok mangga sedang berbuah giler punya) and then breakfast at her place. Then later, I will go back home, pack and make our way to SG. I just wish there's more than 24hours in a day when festivities are ard the corner hehehehehehe......

Well, I will be on long leave and thus will not blog for a bit.

My family and I would like to wish one and all a Blessed Eid Fitr and may the celebration be the most memorable one for the year. Maaf zahir dan batin and have a safe journey. ....message from Mansor, Nurul and Mustaqim

Weekend was something I looked forward too. I was eager to see Nya. You know when you are homesick and then you get to meet someone from the same country, you feel so excited. That was how I felt. Although it was a short meet up, it makes me sane :) and calm(like the pix attached) hehehehehe

Initially we had wanted to have a gebang session with the MCKKians. However, with the short trip I don't think it will be a good idea. Noris arrived at my place around 3pm and she looked tired. Then, plan B was for us to just have dinner with Dee. Just the 3 of us to catch up on things. But a Friday call from my dad changed the whole plan. Dad's vehicle has to 'evacuate' from Spore. His car is a Malaysian registered car and since he has retired(6th Oct 2005), his car's registration is no more under the care of of the Embassy. So if it stays longer, dad has to fork out SGD$20 per weekday as a vehicle levy. To make sense, dad asked Dee to take the car out and we are in charge to take care of the car. I shall not bitch abt his company neither do i want to talk abt the government's policy. What I can say is, it's just fated and we can't fret abt it. To his ex boss, all I can say is, Thank you for your 'help' and your 'kind manners'. Period! Alamak dah side track pulak.

Neway, back to the dinner. So there were just the two of us at KLCC looking for stuffs. I had booked Madam Kwan earlier on but the table was a tad big. Since we were there very early, we managed to get 2 of our friends who were, coincidently, on the way to town. So we arranged for a meet up. At least it won't be that boring lah kan. ALK came first. I told Noreez not to look at him coz since it has been a while, I want to see if he could recognise us. But whola! He could! Then came NSE and her cuzin. We had a great time chit chatting over dinner. I guess we were either too loud or too excited as I could see a few patronage sitting near our table, were looking at us. ALK has always been a nutcase so the atmosphere were somewhat crazy. I was so engrossed with the conversation and didn't get the hint when Nya' kicked me. I tot she accidentally did that but actually she was trying to tell me Hans just passed by us. How blur! ALK was saying that the Char Kuey Teow made me all blurry....hahahahahaha. Afterwards we proceed to Starbucks and continued our chit chatting. We chatted like as if there was no tomorrow. I made a few calls home and my little munchkin was already asleep. At least I don't feel that bad leaving him behind. Hubby on the other hand, was enjoying his ride on the Aeroline. Hmm everything seemed so smooth. We bid our farewells at a quarter to 12midnight. This was really a record for me as I have not been out this late with friends eversince Dee said "Saya terima nikahnya" 3 yrs ago. It's really awesome and I am longing to do it again. (NSE suggested we go for Karaoke one fine day after Ramadhan).

Some good news for the week. I received a call from my housing agent and our apmt is Spore will be sold to one malay couple. We have been trying to sell the house for quite sometime coz Dad has to eventually leave Spore and go back to Malaysia. So next yr onwards, we will all 'berkhemah' at Helmi's apartment in Punggol 21. Anyways, the price is not very lucrative in oppose to the valuation by HDB but it is enough for my parents to live their remaining life with that money. I guess after all their hardwork, it's time for them to relax and rest, enjoying their life together and with almost half a dozen of grandchildren to make their day. Dad has been asking me to look for a space for him to do a small scale business. Hmm...so I have to do the running again.

Another news for the week was when I got a message from my brother that reads:"Kak Ci(my nickname), good news. Your anak sedara, Syafiq a.k.a. the monyet is now the 9th Best Speed Climber in the World. He just competed in the World Cup Series in China". This boy makes us really proud. He was once a defiant boy and was so much influenced by his friends. I guess he came to realise his passion in sports and since than made his school proud of him. I believe he can go far and hopefully will be selected again by S'pore Sports Council for Xtreme Sports Competition. Tak sesia kecik2 suka main panjat2 and he has always been a fearless kiddo. Kudos dear Syafiq Utama.

Today is the 20th of Ramadhan. That means we are left with 10 days before Syawal appears. The feeling of sadness envelopes me little by little. I do not know why this feelings are just here and refuse to budge since day 1 of Ramadhan. Whatever it is, I thank God for 'awarding' the family and me perfect health for us to perform this rukun Islam smoothly. Oh, btw, just for reminder, jangan lupa bayar zakat, ok.

Sad News

I wanted to write something nice and happy this morning. I have not blogged for a couple of days and I thought I will update today. However, a breaking news today saddens me. PM's wife, Datin Seri Endon Mahmod, died this morning at 0755h. She is 64. Although she is not related to me in any ways(except for saudara seugama), it somehow affected me. I have been following her progress and was very glad when PM said that his wife is getting better day after day. She is that strong woman that was able to shield her sickness from the public. A person who is the pillar of her husband's success. I feel for PM Ahmad Badawi. He has lost 2 important women in his life. First it was his mother then now his beloved wife. And to state the fact that the Eid is just round the corner(2 weeks to be exact). While writting this, I feel like as though there's a lump in my throat. I believe Allah loves her more as she died peacefully surrounded by beloved husband and family.

Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke atas rohnya dan di tempatkan bersama2 dgn orang-orang yang soleh. Alfatehah.

Malaysian PM's wife dies: news agency

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Endon Mahmood, the hugely popular wife of Malaysia's prime minister, died on Thursday, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer, national news agency Bernama said.

It quoted Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as saying his wife had died at 7:55 a.m. at his official residence. She was 64.

Endon, as she was affectionately known by most Malaysians, was a huge source of inspiration for Abdullah, and many political analysts say she encouraged him to pursue the leadership.

Abdullah, 65, took power late in 2003, as the chosen successor of veteran leader Mahathir Mohamad.

The soft-spoken Endon was diagnosed with breast cancer soon after her twin sister Noraini found out she had the disease in 2002.

Since then, she had made regular trips to the United States for treatment. Endon recently returned home from weeks of treatment in Los Angeles, but immediately went into hospital to guard against secondary infections, on doctor's advice.

How to use the Surah Al Fatihah

From Dr. Fatma's tafsir Al-Quran

How to use the Surah Al Fatihah

1.  To make someone (YOUR Husband, your children) think of you all the time :
    - Read the Al-Fatihah 14 times  before going to  sleep.

2. For terminal diseases: - Read  the Al-Fatihah 41 times and blow it in the water. Drink and take a bath with that water.

3. For the mentally  ill: - Read the Al-Fatihah 7 times while rubbing  the person's head once in  the morning and once at night,  everyday      without fail.

4. When in extreme pain: - Read  the Al-Fatihah 3 times and blow it in a glass of water and  drink it. Then, read the  Al-Fatihah while rubbing the area that is in pain.

5. For babies who cry at night or  at any time:
    - Read the Al-Fatihah 7 times while rubbing  the baby's  head.

6. For injury : ex: Cut, Bee  sting, Bleeding, Finger got  slammed by the door
    - Read  the Al-Fatihah 3 or 7 times, using  your thumb,  take your saliva  from the "langit-langit" of your mouth and rub it onto the  injured  area.

All of the above INSYAALLAH will  work with several conditions:

- Believe that the Al-Fatihah is  the best "penawar" for everything
- Read it with full "khusyuk"
- Tawakal to Allah
-  Use it with GOOD "niat" /intentions.

-  Baca lah Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim, Ya Allah berulang-ulang sepanjang-panjang kita duduk selepas sembahyang asar sehinggalah  masuknye waktu maghrib.
- Masuk sahaja waktu Maghrib, di kala the first "Allahuakbar"  dilaungkan,  terus lah  angkat tangan dan  berdoa kepada Allah yg MAHA berkuasa dgn apa yg dihajati.
- Buat sebanayk 3 Jumaat berturut  turut

Mintak lah yg baik bik.  Niat biar baik. InsyaAllah akan  dimakbulkan oleh Allah.  Wallahualam.

The splended weekend it was

I had a great weekend despite my bouts of dizziness. We went to Malacca (to do spring cleaning for the house after the robbery incident last week) on Saturday early morning. Reached there just nice for sahur. After the subuh prayers, all of us slept again accept for my bro who was getting ready to go to work. All of us were so exhausted. Parents reached Malacca an hour before us (guess my hubby got to get a new car with turbo engine lah. My parents who came from S'pore can reach Malacca first. Aiyoh, mesti ayah speeding abis ni). At 1000h, mom couldn’t stop nagging abt going to the market. She had planned for to cook Kuey Teow Hong Kong for berbuka and didn't any delay to get all the ingredients. Ayah seemed to be enjoying his sleep. Hmm can't blame this old man la. He is 60 and he was the only one who drove from SG to Malacca. Poor him. I then urged my Dee to drive us to the market. Furthermore, our little brat wanted to join us and I can't handle him all by myself in this condition. So no choice heh.

I am surprised for this is my first 'virgin' trip to the new Malaccan wet market. Very nice and well organized. No stinky smell and the market is huge...hence human jams are controllable. Mom told me to wait at the dry area coz she was worried I might slip and fall. But I insist to go in coz I was just amazed. Macam orang jakun betul. Even Aqim was enjoying himself. Usually if we go to Pasar Borong Selayang, he will pinch his nose shut coz the smell is unbearable. Anyways, I was standing still with Aqim at the dry area but failed to realise that where I stood was a makeshift stall full of toys! Aqim pulled my hand, took of his slippers and sat right there. It was as though he was in this wonderland and busily choosing which toy he wanted. I panicked coz there is no way I could carry this 18kg toy monster. Even if I could, I am so very sure he will create a scene for me(mom said I was like that too). I called Dee who was in the car looking out for parking space. Then my sister came. Phew...!!! She went to the car and stayed there while Dee came to my rescue. Aqim had like 4-5 different toys he had wanted me to purchase. Die die die......gini tauke jual daging pun boleh bungkus tikar. Aqim handed to me one after another toy for me to put it in the plastic bag. I took one by one and without him realising, I put it on the shelf back. He jolly well thought I have purchased it all for him. I just took two of the toys he choose and quickly paid for it. Gave him the big bag and Dee carried him. He smiled from ear to ear but he hadn't found out yet that he has being duped. Sorry eh Aqim....

Mak got out of the market (finally) and she got a handful of stuffs in her hand. She whispered that she had to cancel the Kuey Teow Hong Kong as my sil wanted to do Mee Goreng Seafood for the family. Alah....there goes the plan. I wanted to learn the skills but in the end tak jadi...aiyah....In the car (on the way home), Aqim was busily taking out his toys....boy i didnt know he's got elephant's memory! When he saw only 2 toys out of 4-5, he asked..."Umi where? Where?" With his gesture as if looking high and low for the balance toys. I told him that he has got toys at home....2 basket full. He still insisted. And suddenly the sharp screaming cry from him just broke the silent tired mode in the car. Mak blamed me for not purchasing it. I told her he had wanted all the 5 toys. Mak shrug in disbelief. But after a few coaxing and some threatening words from the father, Aqim settled down with his toys. Adoi budak ni....

So that was it on Saturday. At nite the boys went for prayers and the girls (women) stayed at home and played with Ahmad. Sunday, it was so sunny and I think I showered 4 times...I stayed in the aircon room until mak shouted for us to go to the market (AGAIN MAK????). But it was a short market trip coz she wanted me to do chicken chop for my eldest bro. All nice and well. This time mak cooked lauk kampung and I did the chicken chop with my helper. Mak got her helper to bbq the red talapia and cincaru. While she was busy doing the air asam. Then we had sayur lodeh and sambal belacan and ikan sepat asin and the left over from yesterday's the mee goreng seafood. So much food on the table la. Looking at Dee and eldest bro makan, sampai mak mertua lalu pun tak perasan. Dee was saying that if I cook this dished for him daily, he would have to do alot of burning out at the gym.

We left Malacca earlier coz Dee didn't want me to be too tired to go to work the next day. Left Malacca at 2230h and reached KL at 0000h exactly. Although I do feel tired but meeting my family from Spore and to get to berbuka puasa together is the best thing that could happen. Sayang sekali my youngest bro and wife couldnt join us. Else it will be like a rehearsal for Hari Raya gathering hehehehehe. I hope mak is ok now. She is quite upset abt certain something I can't pour it out here. But mak, aiyah u dun worry la.....just ake care of yourself ajer lah ok.

Pleasant Surprise

How dare I forget that on this date in the year 2002, I officially belong (in matrimony) to Mansor bin Mohd Yusof. No more 'bawah ketiak mak', no more hanky panky, no more lepak with any male friends without the other half's permission. So today.....it has been a 3 year roller coaster ride. And the arrival of that little boy has made the roller coaster ride more fun! Anyways, the purpose of this entry.......I got a pleasant surprise from hubby(I can bet he didn't remember the date today only after I hinted then he said, "yalah..that's why this mini surprise'. Aiyoh men and ego are bestfriends la). Here's wat happened.

At 1348h, I was sitting comfortably in a restaurant waiting for my chendol. I have been craving for it since many days ago(alamak today i crave for sushi lah) and at last manage to get it. Then the cellphone rang....

Hubby: Eh u lagi apa?
Me: Lagi tunggu chendol ni..I tapau chendol for lunch
Hubby: Someone is here. I put him on the line eh?
Me: Sapa?
Hubby: Vince lah. He just finished his fitness and now resting
Me: (cold sweat and excited). Vince...ah ok
Me: Hello Vince(suara mengada2 mcm anak dara. Ceh, tak sedar diri betul)
Hubby: Not yet lah....eh tak sabor-sabor.....Ah ok he's here
Vince: Hi Nurul. How are you?
Me: VINCE!!!! IS THAT REALLY YOU??(What happened to my manners? Never even tell him I am fine. Cheh!)
Vince: Yeah...it's me. Apsal tak percaya?
A roaring laughter can be heard clearly. Must be my hubby's friends laughing at my kanchiongness.
Me:(walking up and down)....ok.....emmm...how do I tell it's really u eh?
Vince: Ur....betul tak percaya?
Me: My hubby is a prankster la. Ok u sing me a song from your latest album
Vince: (laugh) lagu Mengapa ada Cinta?
Me: No la...that one old song. The new one(alamak it just didn't cross my mind the title he sang with Yassin the other day lah)
Vince: U mean Berkobar-kobar?
Me: Yep that one....
Vince: Alright sure....ok listen eh
Vince:(clearing his throat)..Listen hard eh....
*sorry folks, I dun remember the lyrics. Tried to d/load but can't find it anywhere. But go listen to it...it's a nice song......*
Me: Cool!(Clap hands). Thanks Vince. Your voice buat i cair lah...
Vince: Your welcome Nurul.
Me: I will get your album soonest possible
Vince: Oh good. Thanks yah. Take care ok
Me: Yah u too....thanks again

Hubby: Ah that's for u.
Me: Anniversary surprise ah u mean?
Hubby: Erm...yalah
Me:(aiyoh lupa ka?) thanks ah. Get him to sing Mengapa Harus Cinta and record it ok. Aqim loves that song.
Hubby: Oklah will try. Got to go. See u at home
Me: Ok ciao Romano!

And this woman with a heavy stomach smiled all the way to the office and at the same time eagerly smsing Rose and Noris abt the pleasant surprise.....hehehehehehehe

PS: Mom called at1720h and said our Malacca home kena trespassed. Guess it must be the same theif that robbed our home last year. This time he didn't manage to get away with anything coz brother didn't keep any valuables at home after the last incident. But the house is now in a big mess.....hai penat jer my mom and her assistant kemas rumah tu....

Mencari Cinta? Oh dah jumpa dah....

Walking down the aisle

The happy couple. Sharlene Hamid and Hidayat Budi.

*&^%&() idiot!

While my good friend is having a swelling time back in Spore, I had the most miserable weekend....ummm...not weekend...I mean Sunday. On Saturday it went well. Went to do Hari Raya shopping with my helper and son. Masjid India is such a fave hunt but it was very crowded. In the evening, I went to Sharlene's wedding. I am glad she has decided to tie the knot. Congratulations Lyn! Feisal came with the lovely Su and I am still wondering how come this two are just friends. Su is sweet, friendly, lady-like and both of them look good together.....hmmm..well, it's up to them la. As long as they are happy at the rate they are going, I am happy for them too....

On Sunday, I have decided to go to Giant alone. Son was not feeling too well. When he dozed off, I took a cab to Giant Batu Caves to do my groceries. It was ok initially but something happened at the counter. I was busily putting the stuffs I bought at the conveyor belt. A stupid chinese man carrying his toddler, wanted to exit and wanted me to move the trolley. How'd I do that? The space was just enuf for the trolley and how can I squeeze the trolley to make way for his big frame????. He was showing gesture for me to move the trolley one side so he can exit and I said, "Sorry, I can't". I dunno where he put his brains. I wonder why must he insist on lane no. 8(where I was) to get out. He can always use the lane where his wife was queueing or  he could use the designated exit. When all my stuffs are placed on the conveyor belt, he pushed my trolley and tried to squueze himself out. I was stunned bcoz he didnt have the courtesy to excuse himself. I was mad at the same time and "Apa ni!!" came out from my mouth voluntarily. He got irritated and slammed the trolley and almost hit my bulging tummy. Then he made angry faces at me and said something in chinese. I was trembling not that I was scared but I was fuming mad. Everyone was looking at him and me. I dont give it a f***! I stared back at him and quickly made a call to my hubby. I told him to come to Giant and look at wat this good for nothing guy was up to. I informed the security but he couldnt understand my language. He is a gurkha. I walked over to the customer service counter(and this idiot was still staring at me) and spoke to the Supervisor. Supervisor then told me to go to security office to lodge a report. The security there was friendly. He said I should have just shouted at that man. He asked if the trolley hit me, I said no but it was close. If it had hit me, I will not hesitate to lodge a police report. My hubby came and I told him the whole scenario. Both my hubby and the security looked around for this man but he was nowhere to be seen. And I am not putting this case to an end yet. I am waiting for the security to call me if they can have it captured in CCTV. This idiotic man and his wife will have their day one day. My hubby is just relieved that I am not injured but frankly, this anger in me has not settled down yet. Arrrrgggghhhhhhh!
