Today is the day...........

Today Noris went for tonsilectomy. I purposely didnt want to write it earlier in case she reads it and freaked her out. While I am writting this, I hope she is feeling ok and remain strong.

I had tonsilectomy on 22 April 2005. It was very very painful. My sister in law asked how painful was the pain and I said its like having cesearean. My sil went.."ouch". Probably I was exaggerating but at that point of time, the pain I had to bear was undescribable. Even to swallow my saliva was hassle. But my surgeon said I had to force myself because the muscle has to get back in place so I must try. I remembered when I was wheeled to the OT(Operation Theatre), I had flashbacks. How I wish at that time I was wheeled to the OT to give birth rather than to do a tonsilectomy. Being wheeled when I gave birth to my son is the best memory ever. It was painful but worth the pain. However this time when I was transferred to the OT, I was thinking of my son and how was he doing. Will he cry coz I am not around, was he eating well(altho he was in good hands), all sorts of things on my head.

Nurses after nurses came by and asked me my name, age, IC number, year I was born and what I was in for. I remembered it was like a broken record when every nurse that greeted me asked me the same question. Well, I am sure they don't want to make any mistake. Finally the surgeon came, Dr. Chan. He is a big guy. Very nice doctor. Telling me that it is alright and told me to make ice lollies and suck it at all times. Then from one bed i was "rolled" to another bed. Note the word rolled and not carried. Hehehehehe. After I was rolled over...Dr. Chan joked...."..the most difficult task of the operation is done....to roll u over." Heheheheheheeh...I know he knew I was nervous. Than I was maksed and was told to take a deep breath several times. I felt like flying but I knew in no time, I will fall into a deep sleep. After that.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The next thing I knew is a nurse slapped me and said.." Nurul wake up, wake up. The operation is over..." Then with a heavy head I woke up and I saw it was 1145h. So it was like almost and hour and a half. Wow...I thought only 40mins. Then I realise why it was taking longer. Because the size of my tonsils were enlarged and the tonsils on my right are full of fungus. Hmm...i wonder why some doctors insist I do not need an operation despite the frequent fevers and all????Strange lah

Anyways, the cost of operation is hefty. At the moment there i regretted having operation but nonetheless, I am sure after this the bouts of fever I had will not be as bad. And after that operation, my darling son gave up on breastfeeding :) Probably the smell of medicine on my body turn him off hehehehehehehehe

I had to take soft diet for 2 weeks and my mood was bad on the 2nd week. My husband had to go back to Malaysia and my son was cranky because he missed the father. I had very little sleep and could not rest well. Well nyah, if u are reading this, I am sure yur road to recovery will be sooner than mine coz u can rest well at nite. Do take plenty of cold plain water and waking up in the morning will be terrible. Coz whole nite ur mouth has no movements and yur throat will be very dry. So hang in on there ok.

Ok adios.....

Gramps

My 2nd fave duo

Bravo! Well-deserved duo

I congratulate this duo for a job well done. And Joyce, if you happen to read this.......you are lucky because you have a great husband, superb partner and he is really a motivator. I am so glad this couple won. I am also proud of Meredith and Gretchen for making it on the 4th spot. These people really boast up my morale.
